How Florence walking tours differ
Most walks that cross the Ponte Vecchio stay outdoors. They follow the streets between the old centre, the river and the Oltrarno and explain what you see from the pavement. A few include a church interior. None of them opens the museums for you, and a ticket to a museum or to the Vasari Corridor is a separate purchase unless the booking says otherwise.
The examples on this page are single products, not a ranking. Compare four things on every booking page: the length, the group limit, the language and the list of what is included.

Tour types compared
Figures for 2026 examples. Your date and language can differ.
| Type | Length | Group size | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outdoor city walk | 1.5 hours | Up to 20 | The Ponte Vecchio and the Oltrarno, no museum or monument interiors |
| City walk with cathedral interior | 2.5 hours | Up to 18 | The Ponte Vecchio and the inside of the cathedral |
| Vasari Corridor visit | About 45 minutes | 25 visitors | The one-way corridor from the Uffizi to the Pitti side, accompanied but not guided |
| Uffizi visit | Your own pace | โ | The collection on its own ticket, with a separate ticket for the corridor |
The outdoor walk meets at Via de Lamberti 1. The longer cathedral walk does not by itself include the dome climb or the Vasari Corridor.

Where a walking tour goes
The usual route links the places in this guide on foot.
Station and cathedral
A walking route can start near Santa Maria Novella and pass the cathedral. The church interior is free to enter.
Florence Cathedral โSignoria and the Uffizi
The square and the Uffizi courtyard are part of the outdoor stretch. Going inside is a separate ticket.
Uffizi Gallery โThe bridge
The walk crosses the Ponte Vecchio, where the guide can explain the shops and the corridor above them.
History of the bridge โOltrarno and Pitti
On the far bank the route runs through the Oltrarno towards Palazzo Pitti and Santo Spirito.
The Oltrarno โWhat to check before you book
A few questions that decide whether a tour fits your day.
What is included. A walk that mentions the cathedral or the Uffizi may only pass the building. Read whether the price covers an entrance ticket or only the guide.
Cathedral and dome. The church interior is free to enter. The dome climb needs a pass for a set time, issued in the visitor's name, with an ID check at the entrance. If a tour advertises priority access, it should say which pass or ticket it includes.
The Vasari Corridor. Museum staff accompany the groups, but they do not guide. A product that is sold as guided needs to name its own guide as part of the service. Every visitor needs a place, including children and guides, and tickets are personal and cannot be refunded or passed on.
Language and group size. Check the language of the departure you choose, as it can differ from the language of the page. Group limits are set per product, so one number does not apply to every tour.
Meeting point and time. Meeting points are fixed addresses. Arrive a few minutes early, and keep time for bag rules if your tour ends in a museum. The Vasari Corridor does not accept backpacks, suitcases or large umbrellas.
For prices of the museums themselves, see the pages for the Uffizi and the Vasari Corridor.
Tickets that sit beside a tour
Adult prices in euros, state 2026.
Many walks end near the Uffizi, so decide early whether you want to go inside. A full Uffizi ticket costs โฌ25 on the day and โฌ29 if bought earlier. Since 1 January 2026 an afternoon ticket for entry from 16:00 costs โฌ16 on the day and โฌ20 in advance. Visitors under 18 enter free with proof of age, and children under 12 need an adult.
The Uffizi is open Tuesday to Sunday from 08:15 to 18:30, with the ticket office closing at 17:30. It is closed on Mondays. Tickets are in the visitor's name, so the name must match the ID. A tour that ends at the museum door leaves you free to buy your own ticket for a time you choose.

Florence walking tours: frequently asked questions
Do I need a guided tour for the Ponte Vecchio?
No. The bridge is a public street, and crossing it is free. A walk helps if you want the history of the shops and the corridor explained, but you can see the bridge on your own in minutes.
How long is a typical Florence walking tour?
An outdoor city walk across the bridge and the Oltrarno takes about 1.5 hours. A walk that adds the cathedral interior takes about 2.5 hours. Both are examples from 2026, and other tours differ.
Does a walking tour include museum tickets?
Not by default. Museum and Vasari Corridor tickets are separate unless the booking lists them as included. Check the included list on the booking page.
Is the Vasari Corridor visit a guided tour?
It is an accompanied visit of about 45 minutes with up to 25 visitors, and the staff do not give a guided talk. A product that is sold as guided must offer its own guide.
Can children join a walking tour?
That depends on the product, so read its terms. For the corridor, children need their own place, and the booking is personal and cannot be refunded.
